This is the best video I've ever seen. Best = most uplifting, happiest, most amazing in it's scope, and even most educational. I watch it over and over. (The video is Dancing 2008, the image is from his earlier video.)
Where the Hell is Matt? (2008) from Matthew Harding on Vimeo.
I hope you'll go visit Matt. His site is wonderful.
Oh, and buy some Stride gum.

Just for laughs
I found out what lolcats are and I'm addicted. I'm usually a little late for these parties, but oh well, who cares? Amirite? And who doesn't like Maxine? Oh, really?

Sure, let's go to St. Martens for a week

Think they had a good time? Isn't it so wonderful that they brought back a picture of a lizard? I think that was just for me. Certainly I like the other pictures, but the lizard? Hey, he's perfect.

I'm just trying to distract you
I usually put up something like these cartoons or a video when I'm trying to figure out what I want to say next. Just relax.

How would you meet the news of your impending death?
This video is Dr. Randy Pausch's last lecture to his students at Carnegie Mellon. Randy has cancer and was told last September that he had only a few months left to live. Want to be inspired (even as you sob)?
It's 12 minutes. I think you'll like it.
I just want to mention also, this is how Kim sees things. He's been helping me get to this place for the past couple of years and I'm very grateful.

This is so silly, but don't you love it?
It's a site devoted to pictures of people flipping off Hummer2s. It just feels so right. And I'm not apologizing to any owner of one of these beasts. Getting the finga is only fair.

Birthday bowling

Allison recently celebrated a birthday -- she turned 28 (just kidding). She and Carl and a bunch of friends went bowling. Yes, bowling. I haven't done that in years. My mom was a bowling champ; she was in a league and everything. I might get a little yelled at for putting these up here, but oh well, what are kids for? (I did, after all, put up a picture of myself vacuuming the yard.)

If dogs were teachers, we would learn things like....
1. When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
2. Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
3. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
4. When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.
5. Let others know when they've invaded your territory.
6. Take naps. Stretch before rising.
7. Run, romp, and play daily.
8. Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
9. Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
10. On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
11. On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
12. When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
13. No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout...run right back and make friends.
14. Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
15. Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough.
16. Be loyal.
17. Never pretend to be something you're not.
18. If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
19. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
20. And finally...Never trust anyone until you sniff their butt.

Noah and the Whale, Five Years Time
While you're waiting for me to finish my next post (a long one about my talented brother Doug) watch this! It's so fun. I'm happy that I found it -- the song was on [redacted], which I was visiting this morning (even though I hate that the Bruce Willis movie clip starts automatically, drives me crazy).
